Martha has been performing professionally for over 30 years and has appeared regionally in nearly 200 productions. For the past 20 years, she served as Artistic Director at the nation's second-oldest dinner theatre, Chaffin's Barn in Nashville, Tennessee. In July 2019, Martha and her husband, Donnie Hall, made a move to East Tennessee to create an arts education program and community theatre in Donnie's hometown of Harriman, TN. The Rome, Georgia native studied theatre at Berry College, Alliance Theatre, and North Carolina School of the Arts before moving to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. Eventually, she re-focused her efforts back to theatre, which has culminated in a stellar career on the stage as an actor and director.
Martha is a recipient of the prestigious First Night Theatre Honors as one of the individuals "who have taken leading roles in making live theatre in Tennessee better and more magical. She is a nine-time First Night Award winner (Nashville's local "Tony" awards) for Outstanding Performance in Musical Theatre. She was also selected as Best Actor by the Tennessean and Nashville Scene for her portrayal of Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd with Nashville Repertory Theatre.
